My name is Yari and my story is not an easy one to tell, but nonetheless it is my story and my journey.
I have an interior design background and I have always been crafty by nature. The story of my journey into the world of furniture refinishing is not a very happy one. But it is a story that I am grateful for as it has made me a stronger person.
On July 1, 2017, after many years of waiting - I had a miscarriage and lost our baby girl 6 months into the pregnancy. Unbeknownst to us, I had gotten an infection that had cut off all the blood flow to our baby girl. The heartache was and still is unimaginable.
After being in bed for 2 weeks, I decided to get up and grab a piece of furniture that my neighbor had thrown out and one I had been wanting to experiment with. Painting that day gave me a sense of calmness and it became therapy for me. I couldn't even put the brush down. I was painting piece after piece and after each one I fell more and more in love with the transformations and the art behind it all. And before you know it, I was being approached by people wanting me to transform their furniture as well.
So here I am, 4 months later, doing something I am truly passionate about. I am so very humbled and blessed by the opportunities that God has brought my way.
