It was August 2015 when my 16 year old daughter Emily came home from school and announced to her dad and I that she wanted to go on a Rotary youth exchange. With apprehension we encouraged her to go ahead and fill out the application and turn it in. She did just that and before we knew it our daughter was preparing to head to Norway for her junior year of high school. Soon after, our 18 year old son said he wanted to join Youth with a Mission and serve overseas. We encouraged him to apply and soon he was headed out on the mission field!

The next big question was, "How are we going to make our kids dreams financially happen?" I had already been making the Beautiful Trendy Kimonos for myself as a way to "Cover" up my "Multitude of Sins" aka arm wings and cushion in the tushion! Friends had also begun asking me to make them custom, Up-Cycled kimonos and so I did and Love Covers Apparel was in business!

After seeing a friend of mine make recycled wooden signs and knowing I had the talent to do the same, Love Covers Apparel became Love Covers Designs, adding some much needed extra income to my Kimono making business! Who knew that lovingly re purposing old & faded materials would send my children half way around the world for the most incredible year of their lives!

Today, Love Covers Designs continues to fulfill the hopes & dreams of this mom's 4 amazing children!
